I have the libquicktime loaded from suse 10.0 Totem comes back with
"There were no decoders found to handle the file stream, you might need to installt he corresponding plugins."
XINE comes back with
" use an unsupported codec"
Video Cocec: Advance Video coding (H264) avc1.
It seems these plugins are not available/

I agree with you. It seems that the codec needs to match the interface.
The problem is to fine the codec and to make sure that you start with
the correct xine. In the 64 bit version, both the 32 and 64 bit are
loaded on the system. I have no ideal how to access the correct one.
OK, I just saw the link you posted. The extension of the file is .mov which is a strong clue that it's Apple Quicktime. Install the libquicktime package and you should be able to play it. It's available in both 32 and 64 bit formats, choose the one that matches your player
By the way, for the codecs, if you have the right version for your player, it shold be able to find it on its own
