You nearly got me with that :) Only when replying did I notice the

The special meaning *is*, that it once was an abbreviation. But in
time the name of the company changed and it just isn't an abbreviation
anymore.

There isn't any embarrassment, really.
BTW, it's actually *two* companies nowadays, SUSE Linux GmbH and SUSE
LINUX Products GmbH, with the latter being the company that creates
SUSE Linux and all the other Linux based products.
