This is referring to SUSE 10.0. In KDE I can't run lots of programs,
Some games will not load, no CD burning apps will burn or even load.I
can't find the CD-RW drive. and it crashes all the time. I have no idea
what the problem is, and I have no idea what to tel you to help dx the
problem. I know from running XP and working on peoples systems it is
usually the end user, but in this case all I have been doing is clicking
the app to open.
So far in GNOME, evolution crashed once. I have yet to try the apps that
were giving me problems. One thing I think may be the problem, someone
mentioned that KDE is a memory hog. I have 512MB RAM but I gave min 64
to video, in XP I gave it 128MB and I have 3D acc turned on.I have the
color set to 32 which takes lots of VM so I don't know how much of about
384MB of RAM the KDE is using and how much the apps need to run, one app
in question is Freeciv, and all the CD burners. If anymore info is
needed please ask.
P.S. I did not hijack a thread to write this I made a new one from
scratch.
