Phoning with modem

Greetings,
Client requests can very scary from time to time,
I have a client that switched from windows to linux,
Almost all of his staff are using laptops with internal modems, The
Chyanne Bitware software which accompanies the laptop allows them to use
the internal modem with a set of headphones with microphone as a
telephone.
I think it's a cool Idea.
So what software is there for linux that can achieve this?
