One word of... caution?... not sure if that's the word :-) In the
release notes of Cedega 5, you will see various warnings that certain
games - particularly big ones like Battlefield 2 will NOT work with ATI
cards, or are not supported on ATI cards. They do support nVidia...
think about that when you're building up your computer and choosing a
video card.
I've got the latest Cedega on a not-so-powerful system, but running with
a nVidia card, and I can play almost all the games I have.
You will always be trailing on the game support if you go the Cedega
option. If you can deal with being a few months to a year or more
behind (depending on the game)... then Cedega is a great option if you
want to avoid Windows installs.
The list of games that work is quite long. :-)
Or.. there's always the Linux native game option as well.. Quake4, Doom3
will run natively in Linux. Linux Game Publishing is releasing various
games (they are quite old ports of Windows games though).
