Hi Alberto.

Why do you want to create such an elite selection. I would prefer some
kind of mentorship (as mentioned I am hopefully going to do a workshop
on that at osc). A membership applicant should be able to decide on
his/her own if he/she prefers self processing (like following the
guidelines on the Join page/we could learn much from Fedora on that)
or would like to get mentored.

Who does the mentoring? Where are the resources to do that?

I see a contributor as someone who is autonomous enough to be able to
learn and contribute. We should provide him the information he needs
clearly, but mentoring seems a bit of a stretch.

There are ppl like you who like to read and work out processes on
their own, but there are others who prefer to have something like a
'helping hand'.

I would like to address both.
