I agree: the discussion of becoming a strong project is important and is 
(hopefully) in line of what the strategy discussion / draft will bring up.
But I doubt that splitting off from the main sponsor (maybe not so much in 
man-power anymore, but a lot of resources in infrastructure!) is a good
start in gaining strength.
