We actually do heavy development on xen as opposed to grabbing what's
out there. Also, you are assuming that they aren't working on a
solution.
You wrote "we cannot have SLE/openSUSE there".
Anyway, if "heavy development" means becoming not compatible with others
or not standard, it doesn't sound good, and in the end translates in
this kind of delays, losing the advantage of an open platform.
