hm, maybe I broke something, but I can not reproduce your problem here ...

Can you send me a _buildinfo output and prjconf for any project with expansion 
errors ?

the _buildinfo output can get produced via

curl -0 
http://your_buildserver_host:5352/build/home:keutterling/SLES_9/i586/nagios/_buildinfo
