[opensuse-support] how to connect an Iphone to my Tumbleweed PC
Inherited an Iphone and although I am an open- source adapt, I have started using this phone. Only problem is that I cannot connect the phone to my Tumbleweed PC. There seems to be a possibility for androids but I have not found something for Iphones. Could use some help.

As an idea, as I dont have Apple-stuff: I see that TW installs gvfs-backend-afc and libusbmuxd6 which describes: This daemon is in charge of multiplexing connections over USB to an iPhone or iPod touch So there is some chance that this may work via USB. Have one terminal with journalctl -f open while connecting the device and see what happens HTH Axel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

I connect my iphone to Leap 15.1 for photo file sharing: Lightning cable to usb port, open file manager, enter "camera:/" (no quotes) in address bar, navigate down tree. I use KDE; this works with Dolphin or Konqueror or Krusader and maybe others. Should be the same on TW. --dg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

As a fan of midnight comamnder, i use for iphone a menue etry: first install in yast: ifuse imobiledevices6 imobiledevices-tools second make a directory: /mnt/iphone open it for all users read-write third in /home/youruser/.config/mc/menu add: + ! t t i connect I-Phone with /mnt/iphone ifuse /mnt/iphone + ! t t I unconnect I-Phone with /mnt/iphone fusermount -u /mnt/iphone you have now 2 new menu entry's which will mount/unmount your iphone after you have pluggend them into a usb slot (you have to say "yes" for the connection on the i-phone) if you do not use midnight commander, of course you could use the 2 commands at commandline: ifuse /mnt/iphone fusermount -u /mnt/iphone simoN -- www.becherer.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-support+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-support+owner@opensuse.org

Oh, typo:
wrong:
imobiledevices6 imobiledevices-tools
correct: imobildevices6 (was already installed) imobildevices-tools
simoN
My wife has an iPhone (two actually) and to mount it I just connect it to an USB port and File Manager pops up (Thunar I believe) and I say yes and copy the photos or whatever. I can see I have ifuse installed, but I have no memory of ever having to install it.
