Until a couple of days ago I had no serious issues with Konqueror. Now when I ask Konqueror to open a html file (local or remote) I get the following error: <Q> There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueror with text/html, but it can't handle this file type. </Q> A web browser that can't handle html ? =:0)) But seriously, I don't remember changing any configurations on this box recently. Can anyone offer any pointers to the settings I need to adjust to turn Konqueror back into a web browser? TIA Dave

hi dave, i had the same problem and here is the answer: <q> Right click on an html file -> Edit file type -> Embedding -> select "show file in embedded viewer" -> Make sure KHTML is at the top of the priority list in embedding -> apply </q> [from http://linuxquestions.org/questions/history/140115] mfg michael frank -- God, root - what's the difference?

Thanks Michael. That was the answer. Obviously I need to dig a bit deeper and get a better understanding of kde's configuration options. Thanks also to Jose, your answer arrived while I am typing this. Regards Dave
