[opensuse-factory] grub: Arch -> Architektur

Hiya, I have an entry named Arch in my menu.lst for grub1 launching ArchLinux But in grub itself this is displayed as 'Architektur'? I was first suspecting yast-bootloader to set this out of some obscure replacement macro but the entry in the menu.lst is really just 'Arch' So any idea where that comes from? [opensuse-factory] Desktop sudirectory problem

*It seems someone forgot to clear this up on M2. It is a headache causing a subdirectory on a users Desktop to require the root password to open it. [opensuse-factory] can KMS work on nv?

11.0, 11.2 & 11.3's X works fine on this system with unused onboard 6100 VGA port and LCD-connected PCI slot 8400 DVI port, although 11.3 requires nomodeset on cmdline. I put current Factory/M2 on too. With nomodeset everything's fine as long as I don't try X, as the consoles turn black after init proceeds into 5 for a time, then the system locks up trying to get KDE going, at just past halfway on the progress bar. Without nomodeset, when the kernel wrests control from the BIOS, the LCD screen turns black. If I connect a VGA cable to an extra CRT and the onboard video, the consoles are functional. Is there something that could be put on cmdline to make X and consoles both work on a DVI cable connected to the LCD, with or without using nomodeset? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Hello, Im trying to make my spec file working on 11.1 and 11.2 Darix told me that I have to put this line into the spec file : %{!?python_sitelib: %global python_sitelib %(python -c "from distutils.sysconfig import get_python_lib; print But now every build failes. My project can be found at : https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Asnowman1967 What can I do to make it work again. [opensuse-factory] Missing YaST doco

Hi all, I'm looking for developer documentation on writing a YaST module, but I'm confused by the hits I get when Google:ing for it. I found a lot of links to chorgan.provo.novell.com/yast/doc, but the site is for some reason not available. Is this a temporary problem? Is there a replacement? Failing that, any other good pointers? [opensuse-factory] Grub2 in factory/11.4

What are the plans for grub2 in 11.4 ? Just providing a package like in 11.3 or some support in yast for configuring it ? I'am asking, because I have a factory installation, which fails to be booted by grub1 with "Selected cylinder exceeds max supported by BIOS". [opensuse-factory] _services broken ?

Hi: Looks like _services arent getting triggered on factory and/or on accepting a submit request .. so packages like "curl" o "tmpwatch" do not build correctly in the OBS though they build fine locally.. [opensuse-factory] Moving glib libraries to /lib instead of /usr/lib

Hi, Kay requested that we install glib libraries (libglib, libgmodule, libgthread, libgobject and libgio) in /lib instead of /usr/lib as some of the early init action will need glib. It turns out that glib has a --with-runtime-libdir configure flag that builds glib in /usr/lib but moves the non-devel libraries (*.so.*) to the specific director. This would work fine as glib only links to libraries living in /lib already. I quickly looked at that and the only downside is that the gio modules and all the gsettings API (from libgio) cannot be used if /usr is not available. I don't expect anything to use those during the early stage of the boot process, so it should be okay. (Alternatively, we can choose to keep libgio in /usr/lib, but it could well be used, so...) Any opinion on this?
